Our camera and recording team exists to keep an account of all that God is doing in our church. From sermons to community events, we want to capture it all. One of the best ways we know how is through capturing on camera. We upload sermons, podcasts, and events to document and spread His word socially!

Serving on this team primarily consists of two areas:

  • Camera – We need two volunteers every Sunday to each record one of our service sermons. You’ll grow in camera knowledge, framing, and generalized cinematography.
  • Upload – Every Sunday afternoon we ask a volunteer to edit & upload one of the two sermons recorded to our YouTube channel, along with the Podcast for that week.

Those who have a desire to not only serve, but to create & document everything at HOUSE. If you’re curious about editing, filming, or just cameras in general, this is the right place for you, and it’s a great way to get better involved with the community of House Denver!

GENERAL CAMERA OPERATION

Show Up and Set Up

  • Showing up 45 minutes early to be a part of the team meeting/service set up – you should be given and have access to an SD card and a USB Drive – The SD card will go in the camera on the backside – There will be an arrow indicating where it goes. Give the USB to whomever is working AV in the booth to record audio.

Turn Camera On and Adjust Settings

  • Take the lens cap off lens – The power switch will be on the top left side of the camera, turn it to camera mode to pull up your frame – make sure your focus (shown by a red outline) is correctly adjusted, outlining your subject. Keep your lens at 70mm for worship, change to 200mm for the sermon during transition.  Adjust the tilt of the camera so that the subject falls in the middle of the frame using the tilt switch on the left side of the tripod. Make sure white balance is sitting at 4200k and start recording during announcements, the record button will be on the front right of the camera, recording is shown by a red dot above your display.

Turn On and Link Streamcast

  • Turn on the T.V. in the foyer using the amazon prime remote and change the input to HDMI1 always – if the HDMI cord is plugged into a different port, plug it into HDMI1. Adjust the speaker underneath the TV until the sound is a comfortable level – adjust the sound using the gain switch on the backside.

Film Service and Wrap Up

  • Film the speaker at 200mm tracking them so that they’re always in the center of the frame – prioritize the speaker over the screen always. Finish filming when the speaker walks off stage – enjoy worship and closing! Eject SD card by pressing in and then pulling out – take the USB drive from the AV team ONLY when they give it to you – wait for them to finish recording or else the audio file will corrupt. Use a macbook and upload media to HOUSE Dropbox in the corresponding date and service folder, put the USB and SD card back in the camera. Put the lens cap back on the lens, and enjoy your evening!
